Heavyweight British Fabrics: Designed to Last a Lifetime

Few fabrics in menswear are substantial and enduring as heavyweight cotton moleskin and corduroy. These are the warmest, thickest, and strongest cotton fabrics that we have ever offered!

Woven in the UK by the legendary Brisbane Moss mill, these textiles embody centuries of British craftsmanship. Moleskin, with its dense weave and sueded surface, was originally developed to shield workers from the cold and wind—soft to the touch yet remarkably tough. Corduroy, with its rich vertical ribs, has long been a symbol of understated refinement, worn by scholars, artists, and country gentlemen alike.

At 20 ounces for moleskin and 22 ounces for corduroy, these are fabrics of serious weight and presence. They drape with confidence, offering warmth, structure, and resilience far beyond that of ordinary cloth. A jacket, trouser, or full suit cut from this material isn’t just clothing—it’s a companion built to age beautifully, softening and shaping itself to the wearer over time.

Every piece is made in by Rochester Tailored Clothing, a workshop within the oldest tailoring house in the United States. The combination of British-woven fabric and American craftsmanship results in garments that bridge two great sartorial traditions: the rugged elegance of English cloth and the clean, practical tailoring of American design.
